Mike van Dam Joins Crump Faculty

2007/05/08

Mike van Dam brings a broad range of knowledge covering the fields of physics, computer science, mechanical engineering as well as materials science and chemistry to Crump Institute.

Dr. van Dam’s initial dissertation research, in the laboratory of Professor Steve Quake, addressed the question of developing universal gene array chips, in contrast to the currently available species- and gene-specific chips.

He continued this post-doc training with Professor Jim Heath at Caltech, where he applied his technology and insights to develop microfluidic chips for PET radiopharmaceutical synthesis.
